Music Flashback of the Week

As we all know, the music industry has been failing our expectations in general over the past 10 years. Every Monday I will be posting an album from the past 10 years or sometimes older that embodies the essence of me.

This week's Flashback of the Week is Mariah Carey's "Glitter" Soundtrack. I know what any reader would be thinking- "Huh?". The movie "Glitter" to me is loosely based on Mariah's launch of her career. Set in the early 1980s, the soundtrack features highly synthesized production as that of the music of it's time. The vocal arrangements are AMAZING and they're all just great songs that evoke emotion may it be joy or pain. Two tracks you should definitely check out our "All My Life" (great dance track to move your feet and your "seat") and "Never Too Far" (an emotional ballad that will give you chills).

Since the album was released the same week as the September 11th terrorist attacks it received a very lukewarm reception. But a true "lamb" (Mariah fans) always sticks by our girl through thick and thin. Through all the trials and tribulations of her career, one thing remains constant- UNDENIABLE RAW TALENT.
